Labor vows to rebuild bridge with 'top end of town'

Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese will on Wednesday side with big businesses against the Morrison government by backing their right to speak out on social and environmental issues, as he pledges to rebuild relations with the corporate sector.

In a speech to be delivered to chief executive officers in Canberra, Mr Albanese will emphasise that he never agreed with the business-bashing rhetoric Labor used under Bill Shorten to, for example,  justify its opposition to company tax cuts, and to generally decry the "top end of town''.
