Businesses offer work experience to sharpen students' skills

The government’s mantra for schools and universities is work experience and jobs. But the private sector is ahead of the game going outside universities to give students a taste of what it’s like to run a business, not just theorise.
The managing director of recruitment company Odgers Berndtson, Tim Sleep, likens it to learning a language: until you do it in another country you can’t be fluent.
