Worries over delays still cloud PNG LNG expansion

The lingering risk of a significant delay to a planned $20 billion expansion of liquefied natural gas in Papua New Guinea is tempering market relief at the government’s decision on Tuesday to honour a signed deal for the development of the Papua LNG project.

Analysts warned on Wednesday that negotiations on a similar deal for a separate but related gas project are likely to be tougher and more time consuming than initially anticipated.
