Beemer's $36k tourer is one smooth operator
Thinking of a road trip for just the two of you? BMW's $36,000 tourer is supremely comfortable.
It’s not a motorcycle that’s particularly enjoyable around the city, to be frank. It’s too long, too wide, too heavy and too languorous when it comes to changing direction. But if you are planning to lap Australia, two-up, the BMW R1250 GT may well be the perfect bike for the purpose.
Start with the ride quality. Compared with some of the more sporty bikes on the market, and even some tourers, this is positively silken, particularly in the more gentle driving modes (its Dynamic ESA adaptive suspension system can compensate for a pillion and extra luggage, for example.)
