In the end, it all seems so obvious. Handing voters a fistful of dollars is always going to be a no-brainer for politicians.
Even the name of the legislation enacting the Morrison government's $158 billion tax cut package captures it perfectly: the Treasury Laws Amendment (Tax Relief So Working Australians Keep More Of Their Money) Bill 2019.
