The price of sports rights have peaked. Those words have been uttered in some form for years, but again and again new record sports broadcasting deals have been signed.

It's must-have content and the cost of not having it can hurt. But, at what point will it stop? While sports rights costs have gone up, advertising revenue for free-to-air broadcasters and subscriber revenue on pay television has gone in the other direction.
