Gambling, Afterpay 'worse than smashed avo toast' for young people

Large numbers of young people getting into difficulty with credit cards, buy-now, pay-later schemes and online gambling, with observers on the ground saying strategies for dealing with the problem need to be tailored to the audience.
Financial Counselling Australia researcher Mia Shelton said the industry needed to do more to reach young people having difficulty managing debt because their issues typically got worse before they got better or sought help.
