Lawyers are set to continue their “vast over-representation” in parliament, with more than 40 seeking to join the ranks of MPs on Saturday.
The Australian Electoral Commission’s list of those running for the House of Representatives and Senate reveals there are 10 solicitors and 12 barristers seeking election, with another 22 using the more general term “lawyers”.
