It is with some irony that Steven Lowy and his Football Federation Australia board will next turn its eyes to a meeting early next week in a place, Abu Dhabi, that has been the source of so many of their problems.

Lowy, the FFA chairman and co-chief executive of Westfield, heads a board that could effectively have its future decided at a meeting of the Associations Committee of world governing body FIFA on Monday.
