Sydney-based fashion label Zimmerman has taken a dose of Australia's disco days to New York Fashion Week with a range inspired by late nights on the dance floor at Sydney's Stranded nightclub in the '80s.

For the international show, on Friday midday New York time, designer Nicky Zimmermann has reimagined the era's pirate shirts, paisley and lace into a dress-focused collection incorporating 10 kinds of lace in a dusty palette worn with edgy over-the-knee boots and plenty of attitude.
