Zimmermann gets creative with first Australian show in eight years
Grounded by the pandemic, one of Australia's most successful fashion brands draws on the work of a 19th-century botanist for a celebration of its spring collection.
In any other year, Nicky Zimmermann would have been in Manhattan for weeks by now for the annual spring-summer show at New York Fashion Week. “We work pretty much around the clock to get it all done,” she says. This September, though, New York Fashion Week went ahead in a markedly different format, with a skeleton schedule of collections presented mostly online and the likes of Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs and Tory Burch declining to take part.
Zimmermann, which normally shows at NYFW, celebrated its latest collection with a digital presentation from its home territory, Australia.
