T-shirts are underwear, or at least they used to be. But when Marlon Brando wore a super-tight one throughout A Streetcar Named Desire, he sent a frisson through 1951 audiences: 27 years old, at the height of his studliness, and nearly naked!
Cut to 2022 and a different class of men are wearing their undies as outerwear (so to speak). Exhibit A: 62-year old pop mogul and creator of television’s X Factor, Simon Cowell, seen here at the launch in April of the latest season of America’s Got Talent. I may be a bit of a “mean judge” myself, Simon … but with all your $600 million fortune, could you not afford a mirror?
