A jewellery designer's journey from hippie crafts to hipster bling
Holly Ryan has gone from making potato prints on fabric to creating bespoke fine jewellery for her Millennial peers.
"Just ask me and I'll make it for you": Holly Ryan is set to open a flagship jewellery store in Sydney's Surry Hills in May.
Dressed casually in denim jeans and a white T-shirt, Holly Ryan looks like any of the other young women in Sydney’s Surry Hills hipster hot spot cafe Kawa – bar her bling.
Sapphires and diamonds flash on the 31-year-old’s fingers as she wraps her hands around a mug of coffee. Keshi pearl earrings dangle from her lobes and wax-cast gold coin necklaces with her star sign and initials adorn her throat, along with a weighty treasure map-inspired pendant set with precious stones.
