It’s no secret that physical records have made a surprise comeback. Vinyl sales in Australia rose 20 per cent between 2017 and 2021, reflecting a decade-long global trend. When new albums are released to digital streaming services (or as downloads) they are regularly accompanied by a vinyl pressing, creating for fans a tangible connection to the recording artists and a sense of ownership of the music.
