Spanish designer Alvaro Catalán de Ocón is egging me on to walk, roll and even stomp on one of his prototype 3D rugs. He’s sure he doesn’t mind?
“Of course not. Step on it!” urges the bespectacled 46-year-old, on the other end of a FaceTime call rather than in the room with me because he’s recuperating from COVID-19. “It’s a rug.”
