‘Plyscrapers’ take tall buildings to new heights
Could the era of generic glass towers be coming to an end? An expert on tall buildings says the future lies in high-rises using engineered timber.

Plyscraper is the punning term for buildings that use engineered “mass timber” to rewrite the century-old rule book for constructing office blocks and residential towers. The world’s tallest plyscraper, in Milwaukee, is 25 storeys high and many taller examples are being proposed.
