A wild bunch of designers is celebrating the garish in a challenge to "good taste".

The rally cry of the early-1990s LGBTQ movement might well be the call to arms of designers working in the avant-garde today. In place of a public health emergency, however, these creatives are taking up arms against what they see as another kind of scourge – that of bourgeois good taste.
