What are the chances? A boy and a girl, both born in Venice, grow up in Venice, study architecture in Venice, marry and set up their practice in… Venice. No gambling man, even I know the odds on that are low in an archipelago with a population in steady decline and an economy that, pandemics and plagues notwithstanding, has been geared to tourism since the late 18th century.

And yet, that is the story of Francesco Magnani and Traudy Pelzel, co-founders of Venetian architectural practice MAP.
