It may seem odd that McLaren claims its fastest, most powerful car is also its best everyday drive, but that was the guiding philosophy.

“If you only had a single car, this would be the thing you would spend your time driving,” says McLaren’s Marcus Waite. “Whatever the occasion, the car has something to offer that’s commensurate with that occasion. Whether you wake up early on a Sunday morning and think ‘I’ve got an hour, let me go for a drive’, whether it’s a special event, maybe going to a film premiere. If it’s a racetrack [it’s] the directness, connection, the feedback.”
