Powered by an AMG engine, the i4 handles beautifully, with super-sharp steering and agility that make for a thoroughly visceral driving experience.

Styling-wise, the Emira could be mistaken for a Ferrari, though it’s smaller than most of those.

There’s a whole new type of Lotus on the way, and we’ll be reviewing the Eletre (SUV) and Emeya (sports sedan) models in coming weeks. Both are big, heavy, luxurious EVs built in Wuhan, China.

This week’s offering, however, is small, light(ish), petrol-powered and made at RAF Hethel, the former military airbase in Norfolk, England, that has been the long-time home of Lotus.
