Audi's electric SUV hums, with one 'awful' drawback
If you take the hefty price out of the equation, the 55 First Edition is everything you’d want in a luxury SUV – except for those giant camera mirrors.
Audi has joined the small coterie of makers offering fully electric luxury cars in the Australian market. After a long wait following the European launch, we now have two versions of the e-tron: a conventional SUV and a so-called Sportback variant with a raked rear roofline.
With prices starting at just over $137,000 (plus on-road costs), and with no meaningful government incentives, the e-tron here won’t match Norwegian sales. Over there, it is the best-selling passenger vehicle, outright.
