Terry Ingram, who established the Saleroom column in this newspaper in 1969 and devoted himself to it for more than four decades, died in Sydney’s Prince of Wales Hospital on Tuesday at the age of 82.
Ingram’s friends remembered a man whose reticence dissipated over the years, revealing a warm and generous spirit. An inveterate international traveller, his exploration of world art museums and historic sites informed what he wrote back home in Sydney.
