The buzz: Girl From The North Country, readers picks, Harry Potter
A local production of a musical set in Depression-era US punctuated by Dylan songs is shaping up as a hit; readers faves, and Harry Potter Anniversary Special.
Girl From The North Country is a musical that features 19 songs by Bob Dylan (the show’s title is taken from the song of the same name recorded by Dylan in 1963).
It opened on Broadway just a week before the pandemic shutdown in March last year. Since its reopening in October, it has been wowing audiences in New York and is set to do the same here with a local production that opens in Sydney in January, as part of the city’s annual arts festival.
