Filmic in scale and danger, the arc of artist Alphonse Mucha’s life encompassed the froth and bubble of belle époque Paris and the murderous regime of Nazi Germany.
His work brought him fame and fortune among the European elite, followed by censure and repression under Communist rule in his native Czechoslovakia.
