In the heart of Sydney’s Paddington, a distant war has been revealing itself amid the chic cafes and high-end boutiques.

Visitors last year to the Cascade Street office of Songbird Studios, a screen production company, would have been perplexed at the sight of ten Ukrainian speakers – including some refugees from Russia’s ongoing invasion of their homeland – watching and translating raw footage sent from the frontlines of the conflict.
