Aviation cut from competition review amid Qatar row

The Albanese government has carved out the aviation industry, dominated by two big players, from its competition review but insists it wants to see airfares come down and performance improve.

Andrew Leigh, the minister responsible for competition, said the review announced last week, to be conducted by former regulator Rod Sims and Grattan Institute chief Danielle Wood, would focus on issues that cut across government.
