Virgin rewards big spenders with frequent flyer revamp

Virgin Australia is overhauling its Velocity frequent flyer business, adding new premium tiers to match Qantas’ higher-end offerings and giving some regular passengers the ability to keep a status level for life.

The changes are part of Virgin’s push to increase the use of Velocity points and keep passengers loyal. Qantas’ popular program was overhauled earlier this year, making it easier to use points to book flights.
