Smash repair giant AMA has warned it is haemorrhaging cash so heavily it has less than nine months’ funding at current spending levels – and its former chief executive is looking at setting up a rival operation.

If there is a bright side for Melbourne-based AMA, the operator of 170 repair shops in Australia and New Zealand, it is comments about emerging signs of cash-flow improvements.
