Qantas launches Auckland to New York direct

Auckland is shaping up to be a major stopover for Australian premium travellers seeking to fly a more direct route to the United States as Qantas launches flights from New Zealand to New York.
Ahead of the inaugural Auckland to New York flight on Wednesday, Qantas boss Alan Joyce said the airline was confident Australians would endure the more-than-20-hour flight time because “it’s less painful”.
