Qantas best on-time among local carriers but well behind global rivals

Qantas was the most on-time of Australia’s major airlines last year, marginally ahead of its low-cost subsidiary Jetstar and rival Virgin Australia, but well behind some of its big international competitors.

Delays and cancellations have plagued travellers since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic as airlines have scrambled to bring back their aircraft, with production issues at Boeing and Airbus dragging out plans by major carriers to overhaul and add capacity to their fleets.
