Private jet use jumps – and so do emissions (even to a climate summit)

Carbon emissions from private jets jumped almost 50 per cent in four years to 2023 as wealthy travellers increasingly avoided commercial services, with flights peaking ahead of the UN’s climate change conference in December.

A study published on Thursday by Communications Earth & Environment, a major scientific journal, has concluded that Australia has one of the highest numbers of private jets, although it remains well below the United States.
