New vehicle sales kept tumbling in February to extend a downturn in the industry which has now lasted 23 months, with coronavirus fears adding to already weak consumer confidence.
The shock announcement on February 17 that the Holden brand would be dumped by parent company General Motors also undermined confidence, with the overall market falling by 8.2 per cent in February compared with the same month a year ago.
