Brambles signals golden times over as CHEP rivals step up

Logistics giant Brambles has been flooded with CHEP pallets returned by retailer customers which hoarded them in warehouses during the pandemic.

Chief executive Graham Chipchase said an extra eight million pallets had been returned to the network in the December half in an overall market which has become more competitive, particularly in North America. Price rises of 11 per cent pushed through by Brambles slowed from 14 per cent a year ago.
