Webjet shares surge as it flags demerger, record earnings

Online travel bookings company Webjet is exploring splitting its consumer and business-facing operations into two standalone ASX-listed companies after handing down a record full-year performance on Wednesday morning.

Webjet said underlying net profit after tax hit a record $128.4 million in the 12 months to March 31, up from $69.4 million in financial year 2023, driven in large part by the expansion of its business-to-business (B2B) unit.
