Fiji Airways chief executive Andre Viljoen knows what it’s like to be in the Qantas deep freeze. Like The Australian Financial Review, evicted from the Flying Kangaroo’s lounges after critical coverage, Fiji Airways guests have been, for periods, denied entry to Qantas’ facilities. The crime? Viljoen’s criticisms of former Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce.

Viljoen says the relationship is “interesting”, before adding that he can “say no more”. Still, he looks forward to meeting Mr Joyce’s successor, Vanessa Hudson, at the International Air Transport Association’s annual conference in Dubai next month.
