Tower sale boom rolls on with $817m SparkNZ deal
The telecom infrastructure sale boom has rolled on across the Tasman with Spark New Zealand offloading 70 per cent of its mobile tower network to the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board for $NZ900 million ($817 million).
It represents a pro-forma enterprise multiple of about 33.8 times predicted earnings in the 2023 financial year, bettering the relative value of similar sales in Australia conducted by Telstra and TPG last year.
