Telstra won’t give up on areas opposing 5G

Telstra will not give up on rolling out 5G networks to areas where the residents fiercely oppose the technology, such as Byron Bay, because it believes they will eventually warm to it as they feel the need for greater mobile speeds and capacity.

Telstra networks and IT executive Nikos Katinakis said the initial battle to build new mobile infrastructure, particularly in Byron Bay, had been “very difficult” but the telco had now managed to activate its 5G network in the area.
