NBN Co shrinks workforce 10pc as net loss deepens to $696m
The National Broadband Network Company has shrunk its workforce by about 10 per cent over the past year as growth slows, but it expects demand for faster internet services to boost future revenues.
Statutory losses at the government-owned business deepened by 57 per cent to $696 million in the six months to December due to rising costs for leasing equipment such as telecommunication ducts from Telstra and higher debt and tax expenses.
