‘True giant’ Kevan Gosper, Olympic veteran and businessman, dies
Former head of Shell Australia, Australian Olympic Committee president and International Olympic Committee vice president Kevan Gosper died early on Friday, aged 90, from complications following a recent fall.
Mr Gosper, a silver medallist in the men’s 4 x 100 metres relay at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, and who also represented Australia at the Rome 1960 Summer Olympics, died in his sleep at his Sunshine Coast home with his wife Judy and daughter Sophie by his side, said IOC vice president and Mr Gosper’s successor, former AOC head John Coates.
