McKeon leads Australia to most successful Olympic swim performance

Emma McKeon led Australia to its most successful swim team performance in history, after she took out the women’s 50-metre freestyle final in Olympic record time and dived back in the pool less than an hour later to swim butterfly in the gold-medal-winning 4x100m medley relay.

McKeon’s career tally of 11 Olympic medals eclipses swim greats Ian Thorpe and Leisel Jones who each have nine. She became the first Australian to win four gold medals at a single games and the second after Thorpe to win a career-long five Olympic gold.
