Cripps, again. But Brownlow standouts may not be who you think
Carlton captain Patrick Cripps bullocked his way to a second Brownlow Medal with a record-smashing tally of votes from umpires as the best and fairest player in the AFL this season.
The big-bodied midfielder outscored Collingwood wunderkind Nick Daicos, 21, who also blew past the record for the number of votes tallied in just his third season.
An earlier version of the story did not count Fitzroy’s Brownlow Medals in Brisbane’s total tally. The article has been updated to reflect this.
