Australia’s Ashes campaign against England has been derailed after Test cricket captain Tim Paine resigned on Friday following revelations of an inappropriate sexting scandal with a colleague became public.
The 36-year-old Paine had been hoping the five-Test series – which starts in Brisbane on December 8 – would be his international swansong as captain.
