Sharemarket’s poor showing bodes ill for raisings

A new week failed to signal a change of fortunes for the equity capital raising market. Less than $10 million of new funds was raised on Monday; bankers said the poor showing did not bode well for raisings this week.

A new week failed to signal a change of fortunes for the equity capital raising market. Less than $10 million of new funds was raised on Monday, and bankers said the sharemarket’s poor showing on Monday did not bode well for raisings this week.

■ Verus Investments has received commitments for the issue of 120 million shares at 1¢ each and 60 million free attaching listed options to raise $1.2 million. The company said proceeds would be used to develop the company’s Lyons prospect.
