Rebel-owner ups discounts in stores as sales slow

Super Retail Group boss Anthony Heraghty says the outlook remains uncertain and the Rebel owner has placed more product on discount to make way for fresh stock heading into the key holiday trading period.

The retailer posted 2 per cent same store sales growth and 4 per cent total sales growth across its four brands, which also include BCF and Macpac, in the first 16 weeks of the financial year. But analysts’ consensus expected Super Retail to hold its sales growth momentum in the first half at 4.4 per cent.
