Footwear retailer Accent Group is taking on Super Retail Group's Rebel brand by launching a chain of sports wear shops selling budget priced clothing and running shoes.

Accent chief executive Daniel Agostinelli revealed the retailer's latest diversification strategy after unveiling a 22.5 per cent increase in net profit to $53.9 million in 2019.
