The premium foods producer that owns Tasmanian Pate and Woodbridge Smokehouse packaged salmon and trout is headed to the ASX and wants to avoid some of the difficulties encountered by rival Longtable Group, which owns Maggie Beer Products.

Pure Foods Tasmania managing director Michael Cooper said the group aimed to expand through both organic growth and acquisitions and, despite its name, would consider buying businesses on mainland Australia.
