Lark Distilling swoops on Tassie whisky maker in $40m deal
ASX-listed Lark Distilling Co is poised to buy historic Tasmanian whisky maker Shene Distillery in a deal worth about $40 million as it looks to capitalise on the shift to premiumisation which has accelerated during the pandemic.
Speculation is rife in the industry about a buyout by Lark, which has a high-powered board led by former Treasury Wine Estates chief executive David Dearie and which also includes former boss of infant formula group Bellamys Laura McBain.
