People who are barred from travelling overseas and steering clear of eating out at restaurants in the COVID-19 pandemic have shifted some of their household spending to sprucing up their cars and making sure they stay fit.

Super Retail Group, which owns retail chains Supercheap Auto, Rebel sporting goods and clothing, camping and outdoor activities chain BCF and the Macpac outdoorwear brand, has continued to generate booming sales, which are up 25 per cent for the first 17 weeks of the 2020-21 financial year.
