Not so Good Guys: Electronics chain misled shoppers for years, says ACCC

JB Hi-Fi failed to hand over store credit to customers of its appliance and white goods chain The Good Guys and made misleading claims in promotional schemes for four years, the competition regulator has alleged in court filings.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission said Good Guys had run 116 different promotions between July 2019 and August last year offering consumers a store credit if they spent a certain amount of money on products. But, it alleges, that credit was not provided and the conditions for its use were not properly communicated.
