Bill targeting Chinese imports could smash Cettire’s US sales
ASX-listed online retailer Cettire may face a double-digit percentage increase in prices of items sold on its luxury goods marketplace in the key United States market if Congress passes legislation primarily intended to target cheap products being imported from China.
The so-called Americas Act was introduced in March and would, if passed, lower or close a rule that allows goods of up to $US800 ($1215) to avoid import duties.
